Find a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist in your area by using our database. You can search for both public and private sector clinicians, by profession, areas of interest or county in Nova Scotia. This database does not include all S-LPs and AUDs working in Nova Scotia as some have chosen not to include a listing. However, all professionals listed here are certified with CASLPA. This information is offered as a service to the public and members of our professions. The accuracy of the listings is the responsibility of individuals listed and SHANS does not accept responsibility for its contents or the services provided by any individual listed therein.
Other methods of finding a professional in Nova Scotia include using the Yellow Pages under the headings of “Audiologists”, “Hearing”, “Hearing Aids”, “Speech” or “Speech-Language Pathologists” for centres or private practice listings. Be sure to confirm that the professional you are dealing with is CASLPA certified. Those professionals indicating the designation S-LP(C) or Aud(C) are CASLPA certified practitioners. Certification by the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists is the highest professional standard as set by the national association of professional peers. This "gold standard" for the professions indicates to employers and clients that the speech language pathologist or audiologist has met the requirements for entry-level knowledge in the professions and is committed to ongoing education.
The Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres provide service to preschool children and adults and have a comprehensive website with contact information at www.nshsc.ns.ca . All S-LPs and AUDs at the centres are CASLPA certified.
All school boards in Nova Scotia hire their own S-LPs and you may call your local school board office to inquire about available services. You may also ask at your child’s school.
